“Girls do not dress for boys. They dress for themselves and, of course, each other. If girls dressed for boys they’d just walk around naked at all times.”
Betsey Johnson
Spring is near! And STYLEBAZAAR knows what that means! Skirts! But when we say skirts, we don't mean your  average above-the-knee skirts or go-to mini. We're talking about long, flowy, full length skirts. Here's our guide of how to wear one without looking like Ann of Green Gables.
This set is my favorite by far. If you love color blocking or stripes, either of these looks are good for you. In most of the looks we found a blouse that contrasted the skirt (color blocking!) and simply tucked it in. We then brought back the color of the blouse in a very discreet way, such as nail polish, jewelry, a clutch, or shoes. As for the black skirt and leather jacket, we kept this outfit cool and casual. One of the reasons I love long skirts is their ability to be dressed up and down, and one way to do that is by changing the heels. If you don't feel comfortable walking in heels all you have to do is grab a pair of flats, sandals or espadrilles, and you'll be good to go.
The two sets above are way to wear more dressy full length skirts. Even if you throw on flats with these you'll still look you're going to a business party or gala, so why not play along?!  We followed the same steps above, just using different colors, and adding some jewelry. When selecting what jewelry to wear, I rarely will choose a necklace, bracelet and  earrings, just because I feel like it can be overwhelming, and takes away from the outfit. After all, accessories are meant to support the outfit. Choosing a combination (of two) out of the three usually works, whether it's a big chunky necklace and ring, or a simple necklace and stacked bracelets.
The last two sets are made for a girl who just wants to look lovely. Or graceful. Or exquisite. ^_~ These are the words that come to my mind when I see these outfits. How to accomplish this? Well I can really only think of two steps. 1.Choose a light color palette.  Don't wear darker colors of you're going for a more "lovely" look. Pastel, peachy colors are definitely the way to go.   2. Choose a flowy  skirt. This will make you seem like your floating instead of walking, however I caution you. They WILL make you want to twirl around like Maria in the Sound of Music. For most of these outfits, I chose  a clutch, but of course a sling bag (pretty much smaller messenger bag) will do, or even a wristlet. Well, that concludes SKIRTS.SKIRTS.SKIRTS. We hope they inspired you to give long skirts a chance if you haven't been!
XOXO, Z
