Wow, it's 2014. A year since we first started this blog...

Sorry that we've been M.I.A, but you can expect more posts to be coming soon! It's a new year and resolutions have been made to update the blog, so check back soon! :)

Cutting it close, but there's still a day left to decide on an outfit! If you're having trouble deciding what to wear, maybe you'll like one of these ideas! You don't have to wear a flag to show your support; instead, go for the colors of the flag. Here are some outfits for the 4th of July!
This is perfect when going to picnic or potluck. It's simple yet classy because of the boat neck dress. The heels and the thin belt add a little pop of color. Who said blue and red doesn't look good together? Matched with light colored accessories makes for the perfect summer outfit.
Here's a look if you were looking for something not as girly. Muscle tank, baseball hat, and Keds? Can't go wrong with that! It'd be great for a day at the park with your family and friends.
This is probably my favorite out of these outfits. Cool, yet classy. A loose white t-shirt is a necessity in your closet, and paired with those electric blue shorts makes it perfect for those sweltering days. Don't forget the sandals and aviators!
If it gets a little chilly closer to nighttime and fireworks, this would be a great option. A loose sweater you can roll up if it get hot and red pants to keep in theme. The buckled boots along with the studded purse complete this outfit.
A more casual outfit to wear when hanging out on the 4th of July. Stripes are always in, and don't let summer stop you from wearing a beanie!

Happy 4th of July, everyone!

We must free ourselves of the hope that the sea will ever rest. We must learn to sail in high winds.”
-Aristotle Onassis
Ahhhh, the sea. Although STYLEBAZAAR headquarters are located on the east coast, I don't think K and I have visited a body for water for ages! So wearing nautical/sail inspired outfits will have to do for now!
These were the funnest sets I've made so far. I love anything nautical, so it was easy to put these together. We kept to the color combinations of red, white, and blue, choosing lighter and darker colors of each. And of course we had to include stripes on the shirts. Finding a boat neck (pun not intended) striped shirt is surprisingly easy to find. After some scouting online I was pleased to find ones that look exactly  like the ones above for 7-10 bucks at Forever21. Boat necks instantly  make you look graceful and chic, whether you're wearing jeans/shorts/or trousers. And if you don't want to look too much like a sailor, simple touches like anchor earrings or high-waisted shorts with strategically placed buttons should do. By strategically placed buttons, I mean buttons that are like the blue shorts above, where the buttons are in a row and are usually brass. And of course top the outfit off with some groovy sunglasses and matching nailpolish. 🚢
These outfits are just how you would look sailorish with jeans. We stuck to the same rules, just changed the boat necked shirts for sweaters, cardigans or looser shirts, and the shorts for jeans. Striped cardigans are also pretty easy to find. H&M has a really cute striped cardigan that comes in black or blue for $19.95 as well as Delias for $14.99. Lastly, I'd like to talk about the flare jeans. We all know that sailor's pants are ridiculously flared >_<  so since we can't exactly wear those,          flared jeans are our cuter alternative. 🌊
Now if you're a dress lovin' kinda gal, these are the sets for you. We know, we know, polka dots aren't nautical! But somehow (the color combinations?) make the outfit perfect for a stroll near a river or a ride on a ferry.  From the fedora to the heart shaped sunglasses, we had a lot of fun making these outfits. Don't be afraid to play around with your accessories! A hat or a crazy pair of sunglasses can really top off an outfit sometimes. I also really like red lipstick, so I try to include in a lot of outfits. If your wearing reading lipstick, just take it easy on the rest of the makeup you put on. For example, wearing red lipstick and blue eyeshadow isn't really a good look, unless your a clown or Ursula from the Little Mermaid. But whether your wearing a dress, a pair of shorts, or jeans as long as it's nautical, it's a classic. Until next post!   ⚓

A woman's dress should be like a barbed-wire fence: serving its purpose without obstructing the view.”
Sophia Loren
I'm pretty sure by now (if you've been keeping up with past posts)  it's blatant that us STYLEBAZAAR girls are ready for spring. We busted out the skirts, jumpsuits, rompers and all that's left are dresses!  When I think of spring, I think of flowers, so that was really the inspiration behind this post. Of course (since we are the STYLEBAZAAR) we are showcasing different ways to wear floral dresses. If you aren't into cutesy things but you're still into the floral style we've got some tips for you. First of all, just because  the dress is floral, it doesn't mean that the dress is girly. Try it on; give it a chance! I've learned that even if it's the same article of clothing, it can look completely different on different people. Some of the best pieces in my closet were clothes I would have never gotten if I hadn't given them the chance and tried them on. Two. There are different types of floral. You don't need to get straight up flowers on a dress; they can be toned down like in the black, yellow and green dresses above. Third. Darker/solid colors will also tone down the demanding floral print of a dress. Pick a dress that is one solid color if you don't feel comfortable with the floral print. Now, if you're comfortable with wearing a bright/multicolored dress next is your guide! One. Don't over accessorize! It will look like a train wreck. Your dress is already attention grabbing itself, so it doesn't need too many accessories! If you over accessorize, the dress and jewelry will have the attention, not you. Two. Pick one of the colors in you dress and have fun with it! Include it in your shoes/purse/or makeup. Don't match prints with prints because it can be very distracting and again, it takes away from you. Other than a barbed-wire fence,  a floral dress should be like a flower, pretty, unique and attracting animals. 👗🌼

Life stands before me like an eternal spring with new and brilliant clothes.
-Carl Friedrich Gauss

Oh yes we did. Spring, we're ready for you. Just look at our closet, it's filled with jumpsuits & rompers!
The jumpsuit sets we created are  dressy, but that doesn't mean that they can't be dressed down. If you've checked out the other posts, you'll know that all you have to do to tone down an outfit is trade in the heels for flats, espadrilles, sandals or wedges and take away some of the accessories. But we decided to go all out for these jumpsuits. The bright colors (red/green), sequins (black upper right) and amazing textures (green) just tempted us. We paired some of these jumpsuits with clutch bags and some with sling bags depending on how fitted the jumpsuit was. If it was looser, we paired it with a sling bag and if it was tighter, we choose a clutch. The black jumpsuits were fun to play around with due to their ability to match with virtually anything. You can wear any color with them (except orange because someone is bound to mention Halloween) and you can have fun with your makeup doing a smoky eye, a pop of color in your lipstick, or by highlighting your cheeks with bronzer or rouge.
Could these get any better? They're easy to wear since you don't have to find matching pants or a shirt, you can pair them with almost any sneakers or sandals, and they are perfect for a day out with the girls, picnic dates, or a perfect spring day. Forever21 has a great stock of rompers right now in their online store that are girly, punky and most importantly inexpensive! So if you haven't given a romper a chance, please do! And if you don't want to show too much skin, jumpsuits are a great alternative.

“Girls do not dress for boys. They dress for themselves and, of course, each other. If girls dressed for boys they’d just walk around naked at all times.”
Betsey Johnson
Spring is near! And STYLEBAZAAR knows what that means! Skirts! But when we say skirts, we don't mean your  average above-the-knee skirts or go-to mini. We're talking about long, flowy, full length skirts. Here's our guide of how to wear one without looking like Ann of Green Gables.
This set is my favorite by far. If you love color blocking or stripes, either of these looks are good for you. In most of the looks we found a blouse that contrasted the skirt (color blocking!) and simply tucked it in. We then brought back the color of the blouse in a very discreet way, such as nail polish, jewelry, a clutch, or shoes. As for the black skirt and leather jacket, we kept this outfit cool and casual. One of the reasons I love long skirts is their ability to be dressed up and down, and one way to do that is by changing the heels. If you don't feel comfortable walking in heels all you have to do is grab a pair of flats, sandals or espadrilles, and you'll be good to go.
The two sets above are way to wear more dressy full length skirts. Even if you throw on flats with these you'll still look you're going to a business party or gala, so why not play along?!  We followed the same steps above, just using different colors, and adding some jewelry. When selecting what jewelry to wear, I rarely will choose a necklace, bracelet and  earrings, just because I feel like it can be overwhelming, and takes away from the outfit. After all, accessories are meant to support the outfit. Choosing a combination (of two) out of the three usually works, whether it's a big chunky necklace and ring, or a simple necklace and stacked bracelets.
The last two sets are made for a girl who just wants to look lovely. Or graceful. Or exquisite. ^_~ These are the words that come to my mind when I see these outfits. How to accomplish this? Well I can really only think of two steps. 1.Choose a light color palette.  Don't wear darker colors of you're going for a more "lovely" look. Pastel, peachy colors are definitely the way to go.   2. Choose a flowy  skirt. This will make you seem like your floating instead of walking, however I caution you. They WILL make you want to twirl around like Maria in the Sound of Music. For most of these outfits, I chose  a clutch, but of course a sling bag (pretty much smaller messenger bag) will do, or even a wristlet. Well, that concludes SKIRTS.SKIRTS.SKIRTS. We hope they inspired you to give long skirts a chance if you haven't been!

If you don't know who the title is about, then you need to add in one more TV show to watch! April Ludgate is a character on NBC's "Parks and Recreation." The show itself is about a group of people who work in the Parks and Recreation committee in their local city council. That was a very quick summary but the show is great! It is one of the most hilarious shows playing on TV today with characters you can't help but love! More about the show to come soon in our 'Things We Love' section. Back to April...we absolutely love her style on the show! (All the ladies on Parks and Rec have impeccable style!) So cute, comfy, and casual yet perfect for office work. Below are some outfits inspired by her with pieces she regularly wears.
Cardigans are a staple in April Ludgate's closet! Paired with either a patterned blouse or graphic tee is the usual. Choose some bright colors, and don't be afraid to wear some colored jeans! Decide on a skirt? Try tucking the blouse in and adding a pair of tights to tie the outfit together!
These jackets April has been known to wear are more for that cooler fall weather. Try wearing them with a sweater underneath to stay warm.
This last section of outfits are just some miscellaneous ones that April has wore that we love! We adore the sweater and button up combo as well as denim/jean shirts. And don't forget the hoodie for those lazy days!

Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their days off that are the most intriguing.”

Yes, I am a jean-sweater-combat boot-beanie-wearing fashionista. I can't say no good sweater. They are one of the fastest ways to look casual chic and not to mention are comfortable. I also love to shop in  men's/junior boy's sections of store for tee-shirts because  they tend to have higher necklines and simpler designs, which i can never seem to find in the women's sections. Here we've showcased many different ways to look casual. A common theme was jeans, whether they are boyfriend, camo, dark, light, flared or colored they definitely have the power to make any outfit casual, and we kept accessories to a minimum. The first and second sets can really be for springy/fall/winter depending on where you live, and the third set is more winter fashion. Sometimes less is more, and I think some of the chicest outfits are also the simplest.

“Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.”
                                                                                                                                    ― Coco Chanel

Have I been watching too much New Girl? Yes. Do I want Jess & Nick to be together? Yes. Am I obsessed with Jess's wardrobe? Yes.If you haven't ever seen the FOX TV show New Girl, you need to check it out ASAP (of course after you've finish exploring our blog). It's about a quirky but lovable teacher (Jess) who moves in with three guys after a breakup with her longtime boyfriend. She quickly turns their life upside down but manages to befriend her housemates, Winston (a former basketball player now producer of his own radio show); Schmidt (a metro-sexual-social-ladder-climbing-ladies-man); and my favorite character of all, Nick (basically a grumpy old man trapped in a thirty something year old body). However, this post is not about the actual TV show, but the ever so feminine dresses she wears. The following outfits below are what I think would be Jess-Approved.
These dresses have the power to make any girl look lovely. I love the different variations of necklines and patterns (collared, cowl, low, high)/(floral, stripes, polka dot, solid); and how vintage inspired they are. I tend to like these types of girly dresses, rather than sequined/tulle disasters. After all, “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.” ^_~

“Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants.”  - Karl Lagerfeld
We're loving coral and flared jeans right now, as if you couldn't tell from the picture above :P  Coral is a flirty, fun, bright spring color, (which is hopefully  coming up soon).  Flared jeans are perfect for a night out in the town with the girls. They can give the illusion of legs that go on for miles, especially if you pair them with high heels. So next time you're going out, take advice from Karl Lagerfeld and trade in the sweatpants for some fabulous jeans and a pop of color!
